Mackinnon Bruce International, an Executive Search Consultancy within the global Civil Infrastructure, Water, and Wastewater industries, is working exclusively alongside a nationally recognised leader within the Water, Wastewater, and Engineering markets, who are looking to hire a Principal Engineer (Water/Wastewater) to join their growing team as part of a key strategic hire for their growing division due to continued project work in the region area.

The client

A nationally recognized leader within civil engineering heavily invested in the Civil Engineering and Environmental Services industries across the USA. Our client provides leading & innovative design and planning solutions to large and complex civil infrastructure, water, and wastewater infrastructure projects.


Location

This role will be based out of my client's office in Rochester, NY. 

My client is open to a hybrid working option.


Requirements

  • Educated with a Bachelor of Science in a related field.
  • Demonstrable experience across Civil Engineering Design of Water and Wastewater projects in the USA.
  • P.E Certified

Role & Responsibilities

Role & Responsibilities

This role is an exciting opportunity to join a nationally recognised leader, joining their expanding team, whilst leveraging your expertise and knowledge across Wastewater, becoming a critical member of the team, contributing towards project development and execution, as well as supporting new and existing clients across the planning, design, and construction of Wastewater projects.


  • Initiate and lead client development/marketing proposals, helping to identify and secure new business.
  • Support and manage the full project lifecycle across leading Wastewater projects including Municipal drinking water, wastewater facilities, wastewater treatment plants, and more.
  • Oversee the preparation of detailed engineering calculations and analysis.
  • Undertake the preparation and review of project documentation, bid packages, cost estimates, and scopes of work.
  • Leverage your technical knowledge to ensure project quality, schedule, and budgets are met, meeting both internal and external standards and specifications.
  • Ensure the coordination of multi-disciplinary designers to undertake and complete evaluations and designs.
  • Manage and develop design teams and junior team members.
  • Travel across project sites as and when required.
