We are working alongside our client in the Civil Engineering sector, based in Maryland, who are looking to hire a Director - Land Survey to join their growing team.

A recognised leader within the Civil Engineering & Architecture/Planning market with projects including Landscape Architecture, Planning & Land Surveys.

Requirements\Qualifications

  • Educated with a Bachelor of Science in a related field. 
  • Certified Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license. 
  • Demonstrable experience in a wide variety of surveying disciplines including aerial mapping, topographic, boundary, surveying, and subsurface utility engineering. 
  • Experience with local DOTs and/or public municipalities would be a bonus. 
  • Demonstrable experience and ability to develop new relationships with clients and work closely with existing clients.

Role & Responsibilities

The Role & Responsibilities

As the Director of Land Surveys, you will be responsible for the leadership and management of both field and office staff across the Land Survey practice. Leveraging your experience and expertise across Land Surveying and Subsurface Utility Engineering (S.U.E), you will be expected to provide professional oversight, project review, and project management as well as client interaction & engagement.


The role will also leverage your network of contacts within the industry to identify, bid, and win work to increase the portfolio of projects within the Land Survey practice. 


  • As the Director of Land Surveys, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and leadership of both office and field staff. 
  • Responsible for the project management and delivery of a wide range of projects across both Land Surveying, working with a wide portfolio of clients. 
  • Working with the internal marketing team to identify and secure new business, leveraging your contacts and network to continue to growth of the Land Survey practice. 
  • Ensure the timely preparation of project proposals, work closely with existing partners and project partners to ensure projects are delivered on time and to standards as well ensuring project profitability and timely delivery. 
  • Responsible for the workforce development and planning of the team, getting involved with the internal recruitment process for future hires.
