Position Overview: As a Global Market Sales Leader Municipal & Environmental you will be accountable to formulate the strategy, marshal the resources and consistently execute against your plan to deliver growth within a specific industry market segment. This role requires a deep, global understanding of the target industry, market trends, and customer needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales leadership, strategic planning, and a proven track record of exceeding sales targets within a specified industry market. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of industry markets, and the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies to capitalise on market opportunities. The Global Market Sales Leader will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategies that align with the company's overall objectives and drive revenue growth within the designated industry market.
Job Description
1. Market Analysis: Annually conduct thorough research and analysis of the assigned industry market and present to the executive team, including industry trends with municipal water & wastewater, competitive landscape, and customer needs.
2. Strategy Development: Develop and present to the executive team, comprehensive strategies to penetrate and expand market share within the designated industry market, considering factors such as product positioning, pricing, distribution channels, and marketing tactics. Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue growth within assigned industry markets inclusive of monthly, quarterly, and annual objectives including hard goals (e.g. revenue, product mix, margin) and soft goals (e.g. market assessment thought leadership, marketing).
3. Go-to-Market Execution: Lead the execution of go-to-market strategies, including channel strategy, customer acquisition, customer management, promotional campaigns, and lead generation activities targeted at the industry market. Identify key target accounts and establish relationships with key decision-makers within those organisations.
4. Relationship Management: Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, industry associations, partners, and influencers within the industry market. Manage and maintain all agreements required for executing channel strategy.
5. Performance Monitoring: Track and analyse key performance metrics, such as revenue growth, market share, and customer satisfaction, and make data-driven recommendations to optimise performance. Prepare and present regular reports and updates to senior management on sales performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives.
6. Sales Enablement: Collaborate with the sales team and channel partners to develop effective sales tools, collateral, and training programs tailored to the specific needs of the industry market.
7. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, product development, and customer support, to ensure alignment and execution of industry market strategies. Responsible to educate the entire company on our value proposition within the industry market and share success stories.
8. Succession Planning: Responsible to maintain appropriate succession planning for all stakeholders applicable to their industry market.
Competencies
• Bachelor's degree in business, science, engineering or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in B2B sales, with a proven track record of success in driving revenue growth and exceeding sales targets. Ideal experience from municipal water or wastewater experience
• Proven track record of success in driving growth within a specific industry market (municipal wastewater)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and identify actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
