A nationally recognised leader within civil engineering heavily invested in the Transportation Civil Engineering industries across the USA.

The Role & Responsibilities

This is an exciting Transportation Design Engineer role for my client and the opportunity to join an expanding team and business who are heavily invested in within the Transportation Civil Engineering industries.

My client is looking for a highly motivated professional, who has experience across the design of both Transportation and Roadway projects.

The successful candidate will contribute to the continued successful delivery of projects across the Transportation and Roadway both locally and nationally.

  • As the Transportation Design Engineer, you will be preparing detailed and layout drawings, establishing design criteria across multiple phases of a wide variety of Transportation projects including Roadway & Highway projects.
  • Undertake the review of plans/prints and sketches to ensure both conformance and standards, perform calculations, ensure the design and drafting of sketches, and general layouts, and oversee the guidance of technical requirements.
  • Where necessary, undertake fieldwork including walk-downs and supporting other field-related activities.
  • Review and check work undertaken by junior staff members as and when required.
  • Work closely with fellow internal colleagues and external stakeholders & vendors.
  • Undertake the support of other related tasks including the compiling and computation of engineering data, estimating, and the creation of procedures and specifications.

Requirements\Qualifications

  • Educated with a Bachelor of Science in a related field.
  • Engineer in Training (E.I.T) is a minimum requirement.
  • Demonstrable experience working on Roadway/Drainage projects in the USA.
  • Familiarity with DOT standards and requirements.
  • Proficient in using industry software applications including MicroStation, Open Roads, and MS Office Suite.
