Due to internal progression there is now an outstanding opportunity for a forward thinking and driven Technical Sales Specialist, based in the San Diego/South California area, to join this growing company
ROLE
Based in South California/San Diego you will be an integral part of the Sales Team with a responsibility for generating new leads, driving interest in the full portfolio of products and using expert technical knowledge to educate and train scientists across the Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical and Academia markets. You will be partnered with a Field Applications Specialist to drive sales to new customers and existing accounts
- Work collectively with the Field Application Specialist and coordinate efforts to expand your business by generating new leads and adding accounts in your given territory
- Use technical knowledge of each product to deliver tailored product/scientific presentations to increase interest.
- Implementing, developing and executing your plan for the territory that will help you meet or exceed your set targets
- Documenting, tracking and managing your pipeline via the companies CRM
- Representing and promote the company at conference exhibits and sales events
- Using social selling skills to find new prospects and develop ongoing relationships with customers
- Up to 10% of overnight travel for conferences and team sales meetings
- Occasionally lift heavy items for demo purposes
REQUIREMENT
- 2+ Years sales experience in a relevant field (Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals etc.)
- Masters or PhD in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Molecular Biology, or a related field (Essential)
- The ability to learn about new product and confidently sell a range of different products
- A drive and willingness to sell capital equipment across the Life Science industry
- Has an effective written and verbal communication style
- The ability to work effectively as an individual as well as part of a team
- Is great at networking and using creative ways to meet people in professional setting
- Can easily adapt to changing situations and excited by trying new things
- A willingness to travel up to 10%
