The Client
A global distributor of functional ingredients servicing the Food and Beverage, Pharmaceutical, and Nutraceutical sectors.
Location
Remote base in the United States. Travel expectations when business needs require.
The Role
As the Sales and Business Development Manager, you will be crucial in developing new and existing business across North America. You will have scope across the entire sales process, with a primary focus on new business development and customer acquisition, through to the growth of new & existing accounts.
Responsibilities
- Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with prospective customers in North America, to generate new business for the organization’s products and services.
- Make telephone calls and in-person visits/presentations to prospective customers.
- Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
- Coordinate sales efforts with internal functions including marketing, accounting, logistics, and technical services.
- Keep up to date in areas ranging market conditions, competitive activities, product applications, technical services, promotional trends, etc.
- Participate in trade shows and conventions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 3+ years sales experience of ingredients or related products. Market experience with nutritional supplements will be strongly beneficial here.
- Strong commercial acumen, with a hunter mentality and a passion for sales growth.
- Self-starter attitude, with an ability to work independently and in close collaboration with additional functions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
