We are working alongside our repeat client in the Regenerative Agriculture sector based in York who are looking to hire an operations lead for their York Office. The client

Our client is an expansive Regenerative Farming Consultancy, whose purpose is to provide Farmers with the correct decisions towards improving their sustainability.


Location: York


The Role

This role is responsible for all the soil-sampling-related aspects of the business. Taking the helm at the Yorkshire-based office, you will oversee the management of our team of Soil Operators, the Soil Services Engineer, and our Business Development/Farm Sales Executive.


As the face of the ‘Soil Business’, you'll be at the forefront of client interactions, from the initial consultation to seamless delivery. On occasion this will require travel to customer sites, maintaining and building longstanding relationships, and representing the organisation at trade shows, events, and demonstration days.


Further duties of the role include overseeing all aspects of analytical feedback, mapping services, and advisory recommendations, including precision applications. This will require liaising closely with the laboratory and technical IT teams when required.


Requirements\Qualifications

  • FACTS and BASIS are not essential, however advantageous.
  • A high level of understanding of farming practices is critical.
  • A high level of general IT knowledge is required, (MS Office Suite, CRM, Project
  • Management & Time Tracking software)
  • Ability to problem solve and self-sufficiency is critical.
  • Knowledge of GIS systems.
  • Extensive experience and competency with GateKeeper software (highly beneficial)
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Personable approach with sound presentation skills
  • Good communication skills and punctuality
  • Ability to stay away overnight when required.
  • A good level of basic mechanical comprehension is required to assist the field team.
  • Confident driver with a Full UK driving licence which has been held for over a year.
  • Comfortable working within a sales-based role with the ability to quote and discuss finer details of the business services to clients.


Responsibilities

  • Traveling to customer sites and carrying out consultancy and data management will include overnight stays away (on occasion)
  • Working largely office-based at the Yorkshire site.
  • Oversee sales duties, which may include holding sales calls and visits with clients.
  • Correct and timely client reporting using the in-house CRM system.
  • Attending and representing the business at trade shows and event open/demonstration days when appropriate.
  • The general first line of telephone support for customers when in office.
  • Responsible for coordinating analytical feedback and mapping services to individual customers.
  • Responsibility for precision advisory recommendations. This includes, but is not limited to: advanced soil nutrient planning and fertiliser requirements (autumn and spring), Yield mapping, and variable rate drilling prescriptions (autumn and spring).
