Description

Our client are a global leader within the Biomedical and health space globally. They offer customizable, combinable and sustainable bio-materials that are unrivaled in the medical industry. 

They are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering facility for their plant in Pennsylvania to provide purpose, direction, and motivation while operating to accomplish the goals and improve the Manufacturing Engineering Group. The role will provide guidance and expertise towards the final stage of development, scale-up, and commercialisation of new and existing product lines and tooling for Polymer, Device, and Natural Materials. 

The role will be managing a team of engineers and technicians tasked with developing and improving current biomedical materials-based machinery, products, and processes.

The Role

• Provide purpose, direction, motivation, development, and coaching for the Manufacturing Engineering Team to accomplish the Key Results for the business.

• Cultivate a team with the expertise to identify and optimise product/ process variables required for maximising product/ process performance at a full production scale

• Cultivate a team with the expertise to conduct and/ or participate in Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Management of Change (MOC), HAZOP, Machine Safety Assessments and other review processes.

• Manage investigations and improvements into manufacturing product/ processing issues, focusing on tooling/ machinery improvements and Lean Principles.

• Manage continuous improvement of products/ processes to achieve improvements in productivity, yield and/or operating costs.

• Manage investigation into customer complaints and non-conformances.

• Provide technical support to the different technologies and help develop the capital strategy for the business.

The Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering — Biomedical, Mechanical, Chemical or related field.

• Several years of experience in a highly regulated industry; preference for medical devices.

• Ability to lead & manage and/or function as part of a multifunctional and multi-departmental team.

• Extensive knowledge and experience working with manufacturing machinery and tooling in a medical device environment or related industry.

• Extensive knowledge and experience working with Engineering & Quality tools (Statistics, Lean Six Sigma, DFM, DOE). Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.

• Demonstrated project management experience. Ability to apply Project Management techniques according to PMP. External PMP certifications are preferred.

• Proficient in the use of MSOffice, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Minitab and SharePoint.
