For this pivotal role, we are specifically seeking an individual with strong distribution and operations experience within fresh produce and/or perishable experience.

Our client was founded over 30 years ago in South San Francisco to provide fresh produce to food service providers. In 2009 they became one of the only woman-owned produce companies in Northern California.

Location: South San Francisco (On-site)
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement warehouse, distribution & routing best practices ensuring that orders re packed and loaded in an appropriate manner and deliveries are on time.
- Develop quality control procedures in compliance with HAACP to ensure customers receive fresh produce daily.
- Develop truck & warehouse maintenance policies in compliance with HAACP food safety program. Review and manage to budget, develop project cost estimates including manpower and facilities requirements.
- Develop key performance metrics to improve profitability by route and drop.
- Develop and recommend optimal organisational structure.
- Hold team leads to defined departmental goals Provide orientation and on-the-job training for team members and ensure that the authority and accountability of all team members are defined and understood.
- Provide orientation and on-the-job training for team members and new hires.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Requirements/Responsibilities
- Perishable experience or food distribution is preferred
- Minimum 5 years of combined experience in leadership operations, warehouse, receiving, and produce experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Proven ability to set and achieve operations performance objectives.
- Proven track record with warehousing systems and inventory control.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to interact with all levels of diverse backgrounds.
- Flexible with strong attention to detail.
- Bilingual English and Spanish desired.
- Comfortable working night shifts
