Business Development Manager
Mackinnon Bruce are retained with a fast growing life science start-up company who are looking to hire a Business Development Manager to lead the companies growth efforts by developing marketing strategies and identifying new business opportunities/collaborations across the US.
Our client offers both AI-driven drug discovery technologies and wet lab services combining Organ-on-chip technology, 3D disease models and AI to provide unparalleled analysis of drug testing and treatments.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused person with knowledge of OOC, MPS, Microfluidics, 3D Cell Culture or AI Drug Discovery who is looking to grow with an exciting company offering a disruptive technology
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate new opportunities for growth and collaboration and lead the company’s business development efforts.
- Use your commercial experience to identify, build and maintain a strong network of contacts to attract new clients.
- Develop market insights to identify new opportunities and assess industry trends.
- Review, develop and implement growth initiatives, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Develop sales pipeline and revenue forecasts in line with target and company goals
- Work cross-functionally to learn the company’s current offerings and product roadmaps in order to target the right customers with relevant information and products that can add real value
- Use your knowledge and contacts within pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, and other stakeholders in the biotechnology sector to grow the business.
- Oversee the negotiation and execution of business development deals, ensuring that all contracts comply with industry regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with our research and development team to identify potential scientific collaboration and partnership areas.
Key Qualifications
- MBA or PhD/M.Sc. in a relevant field, such as Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline.
- 5 years of business development/sales experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
- An understanding of organ-on-chip, organoid, Microphysiological Systems or AI-driven drug discovery is a major advantage
- Proven track record in revenue growth and strategic development implementation.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills, with the ability to build strong partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex scientific concepts to a range of audiences.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions based on data and evidence.
- Desire to be part of a rapidly evolving organization with compelling technology and ready to take products and processes to the next level.
- Self-awareness, integrity, authenticity, good time management, record keeping and task prioritization skills.
