Description

Our client is a global leader in the flavour and food ingredients industry. Due to the continued growth and innovation of the business we are looking to add a Beverage Innovation Technologist to their global innovation team based in NJ. 


The Role

  • Application of flavors and ingredients, and Formulation of all types of beverages: non-alcoholic, juices, teas, soft drinks, energy drinks, coffee, functional drinks, etc. Beverage processing knowledge and experience is a plus i.e. Pasteurization, hot-fill, cold-fill, etc.
  • Stability testing of beverages: design, plan and execute stability/shelf-life testing conducting formulation, aging, testing (sensory, physico-chemical) and data analysis looking for main sensory attributes and chemical markers changing overtime. 
  • Development of demos prototypes for internal and external customers: set-up tastings, prototypes creation and design (labelling, bottling, etc.), shipment of samples domestic and international, sensory analysis.
  • Understand, interpret, digest, analyse, and communicate scientific and technical results, data, and findings to team members and stakeholders (creation, application, sensory, and analytical data).
  • Manage projects on-site and virtually across borders and manage lab activities.
  • Collaboration with experts in Taste, health, nutrition, and beauty to drive progress.

Requirements for the role

  • University degree in Science or Engineering, (preferably a Masters) in Food Science, Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Food Technology, or related area.
  • At least 7 years of relevant working experience in Innovation, R&D, beverage development/prototyping, flavors and ingredients lab work environment preferably with a Global Food or Beverage CPG company, or with a Flavor and Fragrance company.
  • Preferred experience with functional beverages and Familiarity with the regulatory and legal environment of functional beverages and ingredients.
  • Experience managing and being part of multidisciplinary global innovation or R&D projects. Good time management, facilitation, and organisational skills, and lab work and management. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate cross-functional communication, autonomous, with strong organizational skills and the ability to take initiative
