Description
The Client:
Join an innovative, deep-tech company with a global presence, recognised for its strong contributions to clean tech and environmental sustainability. With cutting-edge technology and a mission to advance clean energy adoption, the company leverages Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Edge Computing, IoT, and advanced climate and system modeling to increase efficiency in the renewable energy market.
Currently, in a high-growth phase, we are seeking a skilled Battery Engineer/Scientist with expertise in chemical and energy storage modeling to drive our mission forward in the clean energy sector.
Location:
Switzerland
The Role:
Engineering Understanding: Develop a comprehensive understanding of utility-scale batteries in large-scale PV installations and grids, focusing on optimised design, operation, and maintenance.
Battery Chemistry Analysis: Analyse battery chemistry and its relationship with current (I), voltage (V), and temperature (T) to assess battery health and performance.
Pattern Identification: Identify charging/discharging I, V, and T patterns, using data to classify faults and assess the battery's state of health and lifespan.
Simulation and Digital Twin Development: Create simulators for utility-scale batteries and digital twins for real-time integration with PV systems.
Model Development: Build models to evaluate battery chemistry and charging/discharging patterns (I, V, T) for fault detection, classification, and prediction.
Optimisation Models: Develop models to optimise battery charging and dispatch schedules, factoring in solar irradiance predictions, battery health, energy demand, PV performance, weather forecasts, and asset degradation.
Predictive Analytics: Use AI and ML models to predict potential failures and minimise downtime of storage systems based on performance data from batteries and auxiliary systems.
Job Description:
- Proven work experience in handling BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) time-series performance data—specifically voltage, current, and temperature—for modeling BESS performance KPIs like State of Charge (SOC) and State of Health (SOH).
- Experience in using programming languages (especially Python) for BESS modeling and simulation.
- My client offers a challenging, fast-paced Start-up work environment. So the candidates shall have a high-performing challenge-driven start-up attitude.
