This is a unique opportunity for an individual who combines engineering expertise with exceptional customer service skills to provide expert guidance on equipment selection and applications.
Role Overview
In this key role, you will ensure that our clients receive tailored solutions that meet their specific needs. You will leverage your deep knowledge of products and engineering principles to support customers in selecting the right equipment, fostering strong relationships, and delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Consultation and Support:
- Utilise your in-depth product knowledge to address customer inquiries regarding equipment selection.
- Maintain high customer satisfaction through effective communication and listening skills.
Applications Assistance:
- Provide expert guidance on positive displacement pumps, progressive cavity pumps, pneumatic valves, and power generation equipment.
- Analyse engineering parameters such as flow rates, viscosity, and pressure to recommend the most suitable equipment.
- Read, interpret, and apply engineering principles to ensure accurate equipment selection.
Collaboration with Engineering:
- Work closely with the engineering team to define specific requirements for specialty items.
- Draft sales letters and proposals to support sales initiatives.
- Use the CRM system to generate quotes and manage follow-ups on projects, ensuring timely communication with customers.
Order Management and Follow-Up:
- Verify that orders are fulfilled accurately and manufactured to customer specifications.
- Ensure thorough follow-through on orders to confirm all requirements are met and customers are satisfied.
Professional Development:
Stay updated on new developments in applications engineering and product offerings through active participation in meetings, seminars, and training sessions.
Data Entry and Record Keeping:
Accurately enter orders and sales data into the company database, maintaining organized records for reporting.
Additional Responsibilities:
Take on other duties as assigned by management to contribute to the team’s overall success.
Work Environment
This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities. The work environment is typical of an office setting, with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. Noise levels are generally moderate, allowing for effective communication and focus.
Qualifications
- A degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
- Ability to interpret engineering principles and apply them to practical situations.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Prior experience in sales, marketing, or application engineering is a plus.
