We are currently working alongside a globally recognised International Investment Management firm who are currently looking to strengthen their German Investment and Fund management resources at a senior level with a specialist Retail Fund Manager to be based in Munich. Although they have offices in every major metropolitan throughout Germany, this professional should be based from their Munich office due to the location of strategic networks, Key Retail Property Assets and employee capital.
The Fund Manager has the ultimate responsibility for the investment performance of our clients €400Mil 20+ Asset pan-European Retail Fund/Investment portfolio and to meet short term growth projections to circa €500-600Mil.
Applicants must have a strong track record in European retail and a history of successful transactions and relationship/portfolio management in German Real Estate Investment Market. Within this role they will have the aim of maximising returns to investors holding full responsibility for the Product Profitability, analysing portfolio performance and allocating company resources adequately.
Responsibilities would include, but not limited to:
Maximising performance of this European retail fund through the formulation and implementation of Fund strategies and monitoring portfolio performance in terms of risk/reward. Strategies should typically include acquisitions, asset management, financing (equity and debt), and holding periods/exit.
My clients fund manager will have strategic oversight throughout all processes including the sourcing of acquisitions, evaluating their feasibility, preparing the appropriate papers for approval, undertaking and satisfactorily completing the requisite due diligence, and documenting, contracting and completing on acquisitions.
Working with the Head of Fund Management or Head of Investment, Research and Strategy and other in-house specialists, to formulate and implement Fund strategies; establishing ad implementing an adequate data basis for the fund ensuring that all properties have Asset Plans and that these are executed and periodically reviewed and revised.
Forecasting, monitoring and reporting actual Fund performance to relevant third parties as required.
Providing support to the Investors Relationship Managers and to the Institutional Business Team to support the raising of equity.
Appropriate property and/or investment qualifications complemented by 10 years’ experience in the property industry; with at least 3 - 5 years working within fund management.
A proven track record in the acquisition and asset management of high-value European retail assets.
Well connected in the German Retail market with an established network of agents, developers, consultants, property and leasing managers, fund managers and property companies.
Ability to take leadership with investment personnel for the management of the retail Fund
Ability to work in a team environment with a flat organisational structure, especially the Fund team comprising the Senior executive responsible for the fund, Finance Manager and other dedicated personnel.
Good written and verbal language skills in both English and German.
