Mackinnon Bruce are working closely with a long-term client in the search for an experienced Senior Sales individual to provide the leadership for the company’s sales operations and maximise the sales team’s potentials. Our client are an innovative ingredient manufacturer and as a result of a commercial restructuring require an individual to achieve department goals that align with the company’s strategy.
Although our client are active in the food and beverage markets, the company are not necessarily seeking an individual from this sector and would be open to individuals who can demonstrate a track-record in sales leadership with an appetite to learn on the job and develop your career.
The role requires the successful individual to manage the day-to-day performance of all sales team members and provide a leadership function. You will be managing the sales objectives by forecasting, developing annual sales quotes and projecting expected sales volumes for new and existing products. In conjunction with relevant functions, this role will lead the design and implementation of the sales plan in order to expand the company’s customer base. You will be managing this sales process with the goal of improving the process to optimise sales and achieve the company’s goals.
You will be working closely with the VP to establish and adjust prices to efficiently maximise sales and margins. This will be through close monitoring on costs, competition, economic and market indicators. The role requires the preparation and presentation of annual budgets to the leadership team and sales team, providing you with a lot of autonomy within a fast-growing company.
By providing the key leadership required, there will be opportunity and scope to hire, train and develop the sales team members as well as leading the weekly/monthly sales team meetings. In addition to this, you will be the coordinator for product knowledge training with a focus on providing a solutions oriented approach.
Although industry experience not necessary, there is a strong bias towards those with the relevant experience. You must have a demonstrable track record of leading, coaching and motivating a sales team to go above and beyond the set targets. Sales management is not a requirement as this will be more people management. There will be opportunity to meet clients with the sales team however this is not the focus point.
The ideal candidate will be a team player who works well in an environment where open communication is critical to the success of the company. You will be an understanding individual with excellent people management skills. The ability to proactively identify issues prior to crisis, and the ability to demonstrate this, will be looked upon favourably.
This opportunity is an interesting opportunity to join a company who are positioned well in a rapidly growing industry. Someone who enjoys and takes pride in developing and coaching a sale team would fit in well as there is a blank canvas for which the successful candidate can take full ownership. In return, the company can offer a comprehensive package and an opportunity for personal and professional progression in a rewarding environment.
