Mackinnon Bruce is working with a leading ingredients manufacturer who have been established for over 60 years with a global customer base. As a result of changing consumer trends, they are expanding and are seeking an experienced and results oriented Business Development Manager to win new business for our client. Their product has a wide range of uses and as a result, this opportunity will provide the right individual a good platform for personal and professional growth.
This role is focused on pure hunting for new business. You will be expected to scope and manage new revenue opportunities and research potential target markets for our client. Prospecting new clients and following up on potential leads will enable you to improve your identification of opportunities and ultimately drive the business’s growth in what is a rapidly expanding market.
You will be able to successfully communicate the organisation and scope of their capabilities to potential customers as well as being influential and consultative. You will work with the Sales Executives to scope and manage the opportunity sales cycle, working in partnership to open up new business and manage the process through close of sale.
This role will require you to be instrumental in the effective execution of the Project Development Plan based on the clients’ needs and requirements as well as assuming a leadership role in the hand off of the opportunity to the project team.
Where required, you will be the leading individual when attending industry events as needed as well as taking an active part in meetings, conference calls and training programs.
We are looking for someone with strong business development experience who has a demonstrable track record of prospecting and winning new business. Ideally from a food ingredients / nutritional background with a good understanding of B2B, you will be a team player and resilient when it comes to prospecting new business.
You will be expected to make calls to prospective customers and have the insight to qualify suitable clients. The ideal candidate will be results driven with a desire and passion to find new business. You must have excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers, being able to work well with colleagues and act like a team.
